Questions Related to center, point

The edges of two identical circles overlap at the others center point. What is the radius of the circles?
Question:
Suppose you have two identical circles that overlap such that the center point of one circle is on the edge of the other circle. If the overlapping area is exactly 20000 square centimeters, what is the radius of the circles? Please round to the nearest whole centimeter.

Answer:
20000 = 2πr^2 / 3 - 2 * [√3 / 4] * r^2 = [2π / 3 - √3 / 2] * r^2 = 1.2283697 * r^2 r = √(20000 / 1.2283697) = 127.6 cm =~ 128 cm

What is the most proper terminology for the center point of a circle?
Question:
My friends and I had a lengthy discussion trying to determine if there is an actual term for the intersection of all degrees, or the "point of reference" on a compass rose. There has to be a cooler, more profound name other than the "center." Any ideas?

Answer:
It's called the center.

Can you affect the appearance of a blend by manipulating its center point in Adobe Illustrator CS3?
Question:
Also is a "spine" the same thing as center point?

Answer:
I am not sure what you mean by center point but when you have created a blend you can edit it in different ways. You can not select or edit the intermediate steps that Illustrator creates to form the blend, you can only expand it. The spine is a path you can edit, you could use the Pen tool and the Direct Selection tool to edit the path if you want to change the direction of your blend steps, it is not a center point.

How do you find the radius of a circle using its center point and a point on the circle?
Question:
If the circle has center (-3,1) and it passes through point (7,5) the radius is:

Answer:
k the distance from the point to the point on the circle is 8 to the right an 4 up you make a triangle and u find the hypontenues 64-16=48 the squareroot of 48 is 6.928 your radius is 6.928

Steps to find the center point of the circle circumscribing the trangle?
Question:
Need to steps to find the center point of the circle circumscribing the trangle? Thanks

Answer:

Suppose you have two identical circles that overlap such that the center point of one circle is on the edge of?
Question:
Suppose you have two identical circles that overlap such that the center point of one circle is on the edge of the other circle. If the overlapping area is exactly 20000 square centimetres, what is the radius of the circles? Please round to the nearest whole centimeter. PLEASE ROUND TO THE NEAREST WHOLE CENTIMETER AND LEAVE ONLY ONE NUMBER AS YOUR ANSWER! A friend dared me to find this answer, help?

Answer:
Please refer to diagram with link below: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24634737@N04/4130080258/ There is a rhombus in the overlap area, which forms 4 identical right triangles. Thus cos(theta) = (r/2)/r theta = 60 degree From the circle that I separated, we need to find area of black shaded region. Area of rhombus = 2 x area triangle of 2 sides length r and angle 120 degree. = 2(1/2)(r^2)(sin 120) = (r^2)(0.8660) Area of sector with radius r and angle 120 degree. = (Pi)(r^2)(120/360) = (r^2)(1.0472) Area of one shaded region = (1/2)(1.0472-0.8660)(r^2) = (r^2)(0.0906) Therefore, Area of overlap = Area rhombus + [4 x area of shaded region] = (r^2)(0.8660) + (4)(r^2)(0.0906) = (r^2)(1.22837) Finally, Total area of the diagram = area of 2 circles - area of overlap = [2 x (Pi)(r^2)] - (r^2)(1.22837) = 5.0548 r^2 Given area is 20000 cm^2 r = 62.9cm

Will the included mounts on a center point ar22 4x32 scope allow it to clear the rear sight on a crosman 2100?
Question:
want to buy the center point ar22 4x32 scope to mount on a crosman 2100, but don't know if the included mounts are tall enough to allow the scope to clear the rear sight. has anyone tried this combination? i've read that some have done it on a airmaster 77 which is similar to the crosman, but don't know if the rear sights are the same height.

Answer:
The Crosman 2100 and Remington AirMaster 77 are basically identical rifles, other than the color and name. Crosman makes both on the same machines, one they stamp Crosman, the other Remington. There is more than one 4x32 scope in the CenterPoint AR22 series, and either will work on your rifle. But, IMO if you can spend the extra, the Leapers 4x32AO "Bug Buster" is a far superior scope. The Leapers 4x32 is parallax adjustable from 3 yards to infinity, while the CerterPoint scopes have the parallax set at either 30 or 35 yards which is basically the limit of the effective range for your rifle. If/when you trade up, which most airgunners end up doing, the Leapers 4x32 Bug Buster will make a nice addition to almost any air rifle.. I am NOT attempting to talk you out of buying a CenterPoint AR22 4x32, they are nice scopes, all I'm attempting to do is give you options and explain the difference. Airgun scopes - AO meaning http://www.pyramydair.com/site/articles/ao-meaning This article explains the meaning of AO and why being able to adjust the parallax is important to airgunners.

What is the center point of the circle?
Question:
The equation of a a circle in standard form is (x-3)squared + (y+6)squared =25. What is the center point of the circle?

Answer:
A monkey will say (3,-6) if you pull on its tail. A student will look up in a book and know the answer just the same.
