Is Douglas, Arizona, a nice place to live? Question: Are there many things to do there or over the border in Mexico? Does it suffer from any drug/gang crime as there is in Laredo? Also, I assume the decent-sized closest airport is in Tucson. Answer: Having lived in Douglas 5 years, I have to say it was a FINE place to live . It is a very small town and because it is close to the border, can have a lot MORE people in it at any given time because of the populace that comes from Aqua Prieta to shop. If you are white, you will definitely be in the minority, but if you can handle that, it is a quite little town, that has grown because of the nearness to the Prison there, which now employes ALOT of the folk who live in Douglas and the surround.. |

Call the airport in advance - they have van shuttles and buses that go from the airport to Mexico and border towns (and back), so you could probably find one when you arrive at the airport. |
