washington?
Question:
who here lives in washington? in or around seattly cuz UNFORTUNATELY my parents are moving to like issaquah or somethign and i have to go.......:((((( but uhm yah itsby seattle... so anyone here live in seattle?

Answer:
I just moved to the Issaquah/Sammamish area. It is nice. It's close enough to Seattle so you can go when you want to. It's also far enough away so we don't have to deal with the many tourists that frequent our beautiful city. Summers here are very nice. If you like water sports, enjoying a day at the beach or at a really nice lake, you'll love it. In the winter the skiing area isn't to far. In the Issaquah area there are a lot of lakes. The school system here is the best. You'll like it, there's lots to do.

Washington state is now enforcing a law regarding cell phones and driving; should people be ticketed?
Question:
Starting in July of this year, the state of Washington will issue infractions for driving while using a cell phone. Talking on the phone alone can't get you pulled over, but it is an additional charge that the officer may add on to primary reason you were pulled over. What are your thoughts on this? Should all states do this?

Answer:
Yes they should. I don't even trust regular drivers who are paying attention to the road, yet alone using a cell phone. LEARN TO DRIVE!

Any important things George Washington did before and during the Revolutionary War?
Question:
And any adventures and experiences George Washington went on or experienced before and during the war too ? Who were his friends and companions? LIFESTYLE AND PERSONAL HABITS- Values he or she believed in? How was he a risk taker? George Washington's leadership experiences

Answer:
Adventures: --"In 1751, George and his half-brother travelled to Barbados, staying at Bush Hill House, hoping for an improvement in Lawrence's tuberculosis. This was the only time George Washington travelled outside what is now the United States." --"Washington embarked upon a career as a planter and in 1748 was invited to help survey Baron Fairfax's lands west of the Blue Ridge. In 1749, he was appointed to his first public office, surveyor of newly created Culpeper County" --"In December 1753, Washington was detailed by Governor Robert Dinwiddie of Virginia to carry a British ultimatum to the French on the Ohio frontier. Washington assessed French military strength and intentions, and to delivered the message to the French at Fort Le Boeuf in present day Waterford, Pennsylvania. The message, which went unheeded, called for the French to abandon their development of the Ohio country, setting in motion two colonial powers toward worldwide conflict. Washington's report on the affair was widely read on both sides of the Atlantic." --Active in the Seven Years War (google it) --Friends: John Adams; one of his closest friends was Tobias Lear V, who was Washington's personal secretary [he was with Washington at his deathbed]; George Mason; Lt. Charles Smith; Thomas Jefferson; John Marshall [who 'idolized' Washington] --Values: He was pretty religious. He served on the vestry of his local church in 1765, and "throughout his life, he spoke of the value of righteousness, and of seeking and offering thanks for the "blessings of Heaven."" He strongly believed in freedom of religion and religious toleration. He was very open-minded regarding other peoples beliefs/ethnicities: "When hiring workmen for Mount Vernon, he wrote to his agent, "If they be good workmen, they may be from Asia, Africa, or Europe; they may be Mohammedans, Jews, or Christians of any sect, or they may be Atheists.""

What must see sights in Washington DC need to apply in advance and how?
Question:
Want to visit Washington DC. Do you know what must see sights in Washington DC are required to apply in advance and how to do it? Besides the White House, is the advanced ticket required to visit the U.S. Capitol, by the way?

Answer:
There's really only one: to see inside the White House, you must apply at least a month in advance. To do so, you must contact the office of your US Congressman, who will attempt to get tickets for you. For the best chance of getting tickets, apply about six months in advance. UPDATE To visit the US Capitol, you can make online reservations using this official website: http://tours.visitthecapitol.gov/welcome.aspx?AspxAut oDetectCookieSupport=1 You can also ask your Congressman or Senator's office to book the Capitol tour for you. It's also possible to just show up at the Capitol Visitor's Center for a tour, although if it's busy, you may have to wait quite some time--which is why it's best to reserve in advance.

Was George Washington supposed to start the French and Indian War?
Question:
Was he ordered to do so by the governor of Virginia who deployed him (and if so, was the governor under orders?) or did Washington just decide it seemed prudent to attack the Frenchies?

Answer:
What was it Sigmund Freud said... "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar?" I think this is one of those times. Washington was both green and ambitious. Quite simply, he blew it on his own. The events in the Spring of 1754 occurred too rapidly for there to have been any planning or communication between Washington and either the British or Governor Dinwiddie. Moreover, given the desire of the British to avoid bad publicity, it seems highly unlikely they would have approved a mission in which Washington signed a document in which he admitted "assassinating" a French commander. In retrospect, all the signs were pointing to war between Britain and France -- which is why I can see why you would ask the question -- but in this case, I doubt the British would have planned for it to start in this way. In addition, there really isn't any credible evidence to suggest Washington was put up to it either.

How does Washington expect the economy to improve if they won't remove all the smothering regulations?
Question:
Washington, take your hands off the throat of business and let it breathe. Government can ONLY hurt economies and ONLY governments hurt economies.

Answer:
So true, the opposite of Progress is congress. Gov't created this mess by telling banks they had to make crappy loans. We need congress to stop telling us what kind of gas to put in cars and how big toilets should be. We need the FairTax Act, H.R. 25, a complete shift in how taxes are collected
