What is the best way to get a train from Milan to the San Giovanni train station in Lake Como?

I am arriving at Milan's Malpensa airport and need to get to Lake Como by train. Is Milan's central train station my best bet or is there a station closer to the airport? I want to arrive in Lake Como's main station, San Giovanni. What's the easiest way?

Answer:
If you specifically want to go to the San Giovanni station in Como, the best way is to take the shuttle bus from the airport to Milano Centrale station and then get the train from there. You'll need to change trains en route in Saronno and end up at the Lago Nord station near the lake. It's a pretty easy walk between the stations too. Leave the option set to Ramo Milano to find the trains between the airport and Como.

Metra Trains leave for Lake Forest almost hourly from the Ogilvie Transportation Center at Madison Street and Canal Street in Chicago. (Please do not use the Metra train to Lake Forest from Union Station). The Metra Union Pacific North Line runs from downtown Chicago to Waukegan (and occassionally to Kenosha), with a stop in Lake Forest (at the Metra station adjacent to Market Square). If purchasing a ticket at Ogilvie Transportation Center, request your stop as Lake Forest. It is an easy ten-minute walk from the Lake Forest train station adjacent to Market Square back to our campus.

The closest Greyhound station to Lake Havasu is Needles, California, but you're still over 30 miles away, and there does not seem to be any type of public transportation between the two cities. There is shuttle service from Las Vegas, Nevada, but it's rather expensive. Lake Havasu is pretty much a city you have to reach by car.

The campsite is close enough to the lake for you to walk down for canoeing etc too. and keswick has everything you need and is v pretty.

Will there be plenty of people walking around State/Lake Station about 7-8 pm on a Wednesday? I am taking the Orange Line to get to the InterContinental Chicago on N. Michigan Avenue and was wondering if I am safe to walk to the hotel from the station, or should I take the bus from the station?

It's safe to walk there. It's a weekday and stores are still open at that time. There's people out there, but just not a whole lot like at 4 or 5 PM.
