these are the main parts of what you do: You have to pull out stop at a stop sign, parrallel park, pull out make a right turn. drive in a straight line. stop then reverse in a straight line for about 100 ft then pull back up. the biggest thing is you have too always remember to look out and behind your shoulder for traffic that isnt there because your in a closed court. you'll lose points for not looking which could really make or break your score to pass.

What does the drivers test in Annapolis Maryland Consist of?

So im taking my drivers test in Annapolis, MD on May 22 and i want to be 100% prepared. Can anyone give me a step by step description of what you need to do during the test that they grade you on? Also what major parts do they grade you on? and what do they take points off for?

Answer:
I haven't taken the test in a while but from what I understand it has not changed. It is the same at all the MVAs. The driving test is taken on a closed course, not on the road. You are supposed to act like you are on the road by very conspicuously looking both ways, making sure you come to a complete stop, both hands on the wheel, using blinkers, etc. They will take points off for not following any of these basic rules. There are 3 main parts to the test - driving in a straight line in reverse for about 50 yds (the only time you are allowed to not have 2 hands on the wheel without deducting points), 3 point turn and parallel parking. You must do these tasks to pass. When parallel parking, you need to be within 3ft of the curb without running into it. The space is pretty large - about 20ft. Use your signal when parking in the spot! I would recommend taking as small a car as possible when taking the test as it will make the 3 pt turn and parallel parking section easier. They usually are very strict about all the aspects of the test. My brother failed his first time and he didn't even get to run the course. Why? He pulled up with my dad in the car to pick up the examiner. There was a line of cars waiting. My dad got out of the car and my brother pulled the car forward 10 ft to pick up the examiner. Automatically failed because he drove without a license driver. Had to come back a few days later and take it again. Take your time, make sure you do all the small things - check mirrors, use blinkers, full stops (count to 3: 1 1000, 2 1000, 3 1000, then go), hands on the wheel at 10 & 2 so you don't lose points for that. Go slow! You won't lose points for staying stopped an extra second or checking your mirrors or "oncoming traffic" more than once. Some of the locations actually leave the course open when closed so you might be able to go to the MVA and practice over the weekend. Good luck!
