We are staying in downtown Dayton, Ohio this weekend @ the DoubleTree - we have never been to Dayton and was wondering about good places to eat, sports bars and things to do.

There are a lot of really good restaurants in the Oregon District, which is on 5th Street, east of where you're staying now. Some of them can be a bit pricey though. If you can drive out a little, the Air Force Museum can make for a fun afternoon if you like airplanes & stuff. They have exhibits from the Wright Brothers all the way to the Space age. Most of it is indoors, which would be good this weekend since it's supposed to be really cold outside. There are other museums around too...the art institute is great if you enjoy art. There are a few theaters in dayton that usually have something going on, so you could check those out. There are several sports bars in the area as well. Your best bet is to maybe talk to the concierge at the hotel & see what's going on event-wise this weekend. They can give you tips & directions for getting to the various spots.
